An increased generation of wind power gives high potential support to meet out the power demand. Supply of wind power into an electrical grid affects the power quality. The presence of the wind turbine in grid system owes to the power quality issues such as active /reactive power variation, voltage sag/swell and harmonics. In this proposed scheme, UPQC is connected to a transmission line to mitigate the power quality issues. The UPQC control scheme for the grid connected wind energy generation system for power quality improvement is simulated using MATLAB/SIMULINK in power system block set.
